COLUMBUS, OHIO ---The Columbus Blue Jackets have activated defenseman Ryan Murray off Injured Reserve and loaned him for conditioning purposes to the Cleveland Monsters, Columbus' American Hockey League affiliate, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.

Murray, 24, has missed the past 34 games with an upper body injury suffered on November 27 at Montreal. He has registered a goal and four assists for five points with four penalty minutes and a +7 plus/minus rating in 24 games with Columbus this season. The Blue Jackets' first round selection, second overall, in the 2012 NHL Draft, the native of Regina, Saskatchewan has collected 12-53-65 with 86 penalty minutes and a +5 plus/minus rating in 244 career NHL games with the team.
